Meet the Staff
Jason and Lisa Huebner
Jason and Lisa have served Emporia State’s Christian Challenge for 20 years. Jason has a passion for the Bible to guide students closer to Jesus for the rest of their lives. Jason is the director of Christian Challenge and focuses his time on Bible teaching, mentoring staff, and discipling students. Jason has a masters degree in divinity. Lisa keeps deeply involved with mentoring women, paying attention to details, and organizing events. Jason loves loud music, coffee in all its forms, and chocolate chip cookies. Lisa enjoys thrifting, chasing her teenagers, coffee, and making things beautiful, a hobby she also holds as a talent.
Genevieve Lowery
Genevieve has worked with Christian Challenge for four years. She joined full-time staff immediately after graduating from Emporia State with her dual bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Communication. Genevieve has held many different roles in Challenge but currently focuses her time on mentoring women, training student leaders, developing publicity, and re-uniting alumni. She loves discovering abandoned buildings, learning new languages, and hosting vibey get-togethers.
Jack Jewett
Jack has worked with Christian Challenge since his senior year at Emporia State University. In 2022, he earned his bachelor’s degree in English and increased to working with Challenge full-time. He is currently pursuing his masters in divinity online from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Skilled in organization, Biblical study, and relational connection, Jack focuses his time on leading the freshman ministry, leading the student worship team, discipling men in Challenge, and teaching. He enjoys pickleball, hiking, and reading.
Katie Webb
Katie joined Challenge staff after graduating from Emporia State University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance. Originally moving toward a career in physical therapy, Katie switched plans as she felt a stronger and stronger call toward ministry. Katie focuses her time on welcoming international students, mentoring women, and managing social media. Katie loves hobbies and has many to prove it. A few of her favorites include travelling to different countries, baking new foods, and painting.
Ian Coleman-Hull
Ian joined Challenge staff in 2024. He holds a degree in Statistics and a minor in Philosophy from Emporia State University. Ian focuses his time on training and encouraging student small group leaders as well as mentoring men and developing new ideas. He has a passion and talent for authenticity and real connection. Ian enjoys graphs, being active, and deep conversations.
